«It is a specimen of the family Dicyrtomidae. The genus = Dicyrtomina. The species = saundersi. But be aware that taxonomists do not agree whether or not saundersi is a good species or a form of D. ornata. As long as the discussion is ongoing, I keep saundersi as a separate species in our checklist, for convenience.» Frans Janssens
Ce collembole globuleux fort coloré fait 2 mm. C'est une vedette des photographes d'insectes. On le voit sur beaucoup de sites internet spécialisés.
«D. saundersi can be recognised easily: check out the posterior dorsal pigment patch. If the black patch is in the form of a Malthezer cross, it is saundersi. If the patch is more in the form of a rectangle, it is ornata.» Frans Janssens.
nEigenlijk eerder een «multi barred cross» zoals vermeld in Checklist of the Collembola: Key to common surface dwelling species of Collembola from the UK (www.collembola.org: «Dorsal posterior patch multi barred cross shaped »
