«Ik had dit 'boomschorsrennertje' al enkele keren waargenomen, maar nooit goed kunnen fotograferen, zelfs niet kunnen bepalen of het een vlieg, wesp of nog iets anders was. In november 2010 op de zonnige kant van de schors van een Esdoorn kon ik het beestje toch net lang genoeg stilkrijgen - vliegen doet het blijkbaar niet graag - en de foto voorleggen op diptera.info voor identificatie...»
