In de Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Belgium is Monopis crocicapitella (Clemens, 1859) nog niet nà 1980 gesignaleerd.
Verschil : « The ground colour of the hindwing is dark fuscous which distinguishes the species from M. crocicapitella where the ground colour of the
hind wing is whitish grey. » (Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Belgium) Op forum van waarneming.nl wordt nog toegevoegd voor de voorvleugel: « M. obviella has the forewing with a pale yellow, not ochreous, dorsal streak and pale irroration limited to a sprinkling of whitish scales near costa. »
